Our custom lab made products require an ear impression to be made

Lets get a custom product underway!

Traditionally, we make ear molds for people at shows and events all around the world. A candidate fills out an invoice that includes a risk assessment form.  After the form is complete, including a signature, we begin the impression making process.

A pre-inspection of the ear is performed using an Oto-Scope or Oto-Light, to verify that the conditions of the ear are such, that an impression can be made.  With that determination completed, the impressionist can proceed.

The impressionist will place an Oto-Block into the ear.  This block will prevent the impression material from going further into the ear canal, than required to provide an adequate seal for protection.

Once the Oto-Block is in place, the candidate will place a Bite-Block into the mouth, as instructed by the impressionist. This device will align the jaw and minimize movement of the jaw to a limited amount while making the impression.  The reason for the use of a Bite-Block is to insure that the finished product will remain sealed while the individual is wearing the finished product. Even when chewing gum, talking or performing on stage.

With the Oto-Block and Bite-Block in place, the impressionist will inject room temperature impression material into the ear canal and outer ear to make the complete whole ear impression to manufacture from.

When the material is curred ( about 2 minutes ) it is removed from the ear and ear canal without any residual, the candidate can remove the Bite-Block from the mouth and discard the Bite-Block.

When completed, the impressions are returned to the lab to manufacture a custom made lab product.
